× An evening of Orchestral Led Zeppelin & The Who performed by Michael White & The White In 2005 Michael began writing orchestral arrangements for some of Led Zeppelin’s most popular songs and before long he and his rock band ‘The White’ were performing the music of Led Zeppelin with philharmonic orchestras in theatres across Canada. In 2009 Toronto radio station Q107 presented Orchestral Zeppelin at the Danforth Music Hall, Richmond Hill Centre for Performing Arts and at the CNE bandshell. Both shows were sold out! The shows were so well received in fact, that Michael decided to expand on his orchestral show by adding orcherstral arrangements of The Who’s greatest hits as well.

These orchestral arrangements remain true to the rockin' spirit of the music while incorporating a unique symphonic sensibility that creates a classic new vibe, that comes alive in it's own right. This musical production is an incredible sound experience designed to transport your mind to an alternate space and time.

This musical ensemble consists of the rock band, Michael White & The White, along with The Symphony of Rock Strings. Together onstage they create a magical space to share with audiences as they perform new and exciting arrangements of this legendary music re-imagined.

After Beatlemania, The White was the first musical group to be known as a tribute band. Michael formed The White in 1977 and since then, the group has played over 8,000 shows to over a million fans around the world. Although he has been performing Led Zeppelin's music for so many years, Michael doesn’t get tired of it. “I love it,” he said. “The music is as vital today as it ever was.” At one recent show in particular, White said three generations attended together.

“Performing songs like Stairway to Heaven, Kashmir, Won’t Get Fooled Again and Behind Blue Eyes with a rock orchestra is inspirational”, White declared.

White's musical career has ranged beyond Led Zeppelin. in addition to recording both solo and group releases for Atlantic Records he has also recorded and performed with artists such as Nikki Sixx, Alice Cooper, Keith Emerson, Steve Morse, Dweezil Zappa, Steve Lukather, Rick Wakeman, Steve Cropper, Rik Emmett, and Jeff Healey.

Originally from Los Angeles, Michael performed frequently in Hollywood during the mid 1970’s and actually met The Who’s legendary drummer, Keith Moon. “He was a great guy, always very nice and friendly”, Michael recalls, “He liked to just hang out in the clubs with all of us young musicians. You read about all these crazy things he would do, but around us he was down to earth“.

But Zeppelin has always been with him. The Led Zeppelin music he and his band The White play is so true to the spirit of their idols that they have actually been endorsed by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant. Don’t miss this show!
